Rates and Terms of Service

How We Calculate Our Quote:

  • Rates: $350.00 per hour.

  • Total billable hours for your project will depend the type of appraisal required, the number of items to be appraised, and the amount of information you are able to provide before we begin. We apply our years of experience to consider the quality, relative importance, history and condition of your artwork. We then analyze recent sales of similar works at auction, galleries and dealers to provide you with the most accurate, objective valuation possible.

  • For most standard appraisal assignments: During a typical onsite visit to a home or office, we can inspect, catalogue and photograph approximately ten works of art per hour. Three hours of research, valuation and report writing at our office will then be required to complete the assignment. Total cost for this 10 item appraisal report: $1,400.00. (1 hour of inspection plus 3 hours of research x $350.00)

  • For IRS compliant appraisal reports: These reports for donation and estate purposes require additional research and compliance with IRS statutes. Appraisals submitted to the IRS with values above $50,000.00 are reviewed by an expert panel for accuracy. The appraiser must therefore apply the highest level of care and diligence in preparing these reports. Minimum charge: $2,800.00 (8 hours at $350.00 per hour)

  • Our reports conform to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.

  • We will appraise from photographs with limiting conditions.
